New Girl Review: It’s Jess!

I am pretty much in love with Zooey Deschanel’s new show New Girl.

Don’t get me wrong this show is not original in the least and it has some flaws but that isn’t the point. The point is this show is centered on Zooey Deschanel’s cuteness and adorableness and it succeeds.

I was sold on this show from the promos. It looked adorable, it had Zooey, and the supporting cast looked funny as well. I usually love anything Max Greenfield is in; so there was no way I wasn’t watching this show and I was very happy to discover that the show didn’t suck. I laughed throughout the entire episode and don’t think I ever stopped smiling.

I already love Jess and her friendship with Nick and Schmit. Yes Schmit was a total douchebag but I have a feeling they will flesh that out as the season moves along so I am not too worried. Nick and Jess have great chemistry and I see potential for those two.  It’s too bad Damon Waynes is on Happy Endings because his character was funny but I will be interested in seeing who the new guy is they get to replace him.

Anyways the pilot was adorable and cute and it got me hooked. It was way way better than Ringer which I have given up on. Maybe it will get better maybe it won’t but for right now I am watching New Girl after Glee on Tuesday nights. I mean come on people SHE HAS HER OWN THEME SONG!!!

My Favorite quotes:

Jess: Who’s that girl? It’s Jess.
Nick: Did you just make up a theme song for yourself?

Cece: Your stripper name is Rebecca Johnson?

Schmidt: I’ll take you through the whole thing. I’ll be like your guide.
Jess: Like Gandolf through Middle Earth?
Schmidt: Probably not like… Okay, first of all, let’s take the Lord of the Rings references and put them in a deep, dark cave, where no one’s gonna find them. Ever.
Jess: Except Smeagle. He lives in a cave.

Nick: I could pretend to be more like you, Jess, and live on a sparkly rainbow and drive a unicorn around and just sing all the time.
